​​Sport Offerings for Primary School at Good Samaritan Catholic College

At Good Samaritan Catholic College, we are proud to offer a diverse range of sports programs for our primary school students. Our aim is to provide opportunities for all students to engage in physical activities, develop their skills, and foster a love for sports. Below is an overview of the various sports offerings available for the year 2025:


Netball

Our netball programs include the Queensland Catholic Schools Cup (QC Cup) for Year 5/6, the Primary Schools Netball Gala Day for Year 4/5/6, the Sunshine Coast Primary Schools Catholic Cup for Year 4/5/6 (Boys & Girls), and the Lightning Cup for Year 5/6. These events provide students with the chance to compete and showcase their talents in a supportive environment.

Football/Soccer

Students can participate in the SEQ Football Nambour District Carnival for Year 5/6 (Boys & Girls) and the Sunshine Coast Primary Schools Catholic Cup for Year 4/5/6 (Boys & Girls). These competitions are designed to promote teamwork, skill development, and sportsmanship.​

Rugby Union

The BCE Catholic Schools Rugby 7s for Year 4/5/6 (Boys & Girls) offers students the opportunity to engage in this dynamic and exciting sport. Our rugby program emphasizes safety, teamwork, and skill development.​

Rugby League

Our rugby league offerings include the All Schools League Tag Gala Day for Year 3/4/5/6 (Boys & Girls), the Billy Moore Gala Day for Year 5/6 (Boys & Girls), the Amy Back Tag Bonanza Gala Day for Year 3/4/5/6, and the Moses Mbye event for Years 3/4 (Boys & Girls). These events provide students with the chance to participate in both competitive and non-competitive formats.​

AFL

The QSchools Cup Rising Star Gala Day for Year 5/6 (Boys & Girls) is a fantastic opportunity for students to engage in Australian Rules Football. This event focuses on skill development and teamwork.​

Touch/Oztag

Our touch and Oztag programs include the Catholic Schools Oztag Competition for Year 5/6 (Boys & Girls). These sports are great for developing agility, coordination, and teamwork.

Third Party Provided Afterschool Activities for 2025

In addition to our school-run programs, we offer a variety of afterschool activities provided by third parties. These include:

  • Term 1: Cricket Blast for Prep - Year 6
  • Term 2: AFL Auskick & Superkick for Prep - Year 6
  • Term 3: Leaguestars for Prep - Year 6
  • Term 4: Ultimate Athletics for Prep - Year 6
